Still, I think Nibali will do very well and I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up beating both Hesjedal and Evans. He's done a lot of work on the TT bike and we've all seen how fast the Specialized bikes are in the TT this year! I agree with Wiggins & Kessiakoff for the two first places, but... it could be Nibali taking 3rd. As you say, he can rely on Wiggin's times as he start almost an hour after him.

Surely, the weather can change a lot but with same conditions for all the GC riders, I think Nibali will do very well.

Let's see :)Mikkel Condéhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09820564126960221923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8325347338223117152.post-74015806361353019832013-05-11T01:10:49.851+02:002013-05-11T01:10:49.851+02:00As Always a pleasure to read your considerations! ...As Always a pleasure to read your considerations! here is mine - hope you will comment on them?
Top 15 starting with 3 min. interval - the rest with only 1 min (not much over 54.8 km) so it’s not only weather that it is interesting, but also the "fixed points" various riders have! – Frederik will have the following - QUINTERO, VIVIANI, DALL'ANTONIA, MEIER, TRENTIN - he will get to all of them and probably some more - It will give him moral and pacing. If / when the weather changes, I see it as another advantage - it can be what makes difference, so Frederik can fight for the win. Phinney has similar "scenario", he has struggled a lot with hay fever and it has drained his energy, though he says it's been better - I am afraid that it can NOT be a top 5 ranking/place! Svein - as always riding his TT-bike hard, who also will do it tomorrow. He is starting 2 minutes after Phinney - He may be a little locked by not having some / many to run after – in some time. Depending on wind and weather, and as I expect it pt., I see great opportunity for the following top 5: Wiggins, Kessiaskoff, Intxausti, Evans and Hejsedal - It depends on how weather forecasts represent tomorrow early, it can easily change in the rankings and maybe we need more riders starting earlier in the day in around the top 5?! It promises the least good for Wiggins, who starts the whole 49 minutes before Nibali - it may mean that Wiggins comes to running the edge of the storm, while Nibali and the other GC favorites have to contend with wet roads most of the 54.8 km. - And then the time difference will be around 3.5 to 4.5 min. (For Nibali) - keep in mind that Wiggins took 3min and 38 sec. on Nibali - on a 53.5 km ITT in the Tour last year - the route fit Nibali a little better here in the Giro, but rain and wind offsets the difference and probably even more - all in favor of Wiggins!
@Mazzola1989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8325347338223117152.post-69916075719515323862013-05-10T22:44:18.330+02:002013-05-10T22:44:18.330+02:00Good evening!

I know, he is not a favorite for tomorrow, but he has been riding impressively in the first week. Last year 6th in the final TT of the Giro, in the mix with the specialists...

A challenge for a prediction: Nibali vs. Hesjedal
my guess: Hesjedal

Hope the weather stays steady and dry.

Enjoy!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03138502485705402705noreply@blogger.com
